covers news, interviews, various art submissions, and general entertainment for the week.

This week...

...An interview with 3rd Space

by punkworlxavi

3RD SPACE...

...has a space for everyone.

After a flawless show, I got to sit down with five

members of 3rd Space for an interview covering what 3rd Space is, how their workflow goes, and future projects coming from the collective itself. Although my camera died while filming (twice,) that didn't stop the group from providing us with a rib-tickling interview. Now sit down, chillax, and !WATCH THIS!.....

Unfortunately, a lot of the video and audio were cut short - due to this being my first time and technical difficulties.

but for the next edition of PUNKWORL online magazine, we'll have a written interview of everything not included here.

DARRIUS HUDSON PRESENTS:

BREAKING DOWN MY TOP 7 FAVORITE LOOKS THAT I HAVE STYLED (so far) My Name is Darrius Myles Hudson and I am an Independent visual artist and aspiring fashion stylist. I first got into styling at 20 years old in 2022. I was dealing with a lot of internal issues like what I wanted to do with my life, what I'm doing with my life right now, and what I want to leave behind when I’m no longer living?

As I'm lying in my bed I look around at my room and all I see are clothes. Immediately after, I found myself on YouTube watching video after video on designers and all things ultimately fashion. Soon after, I found myself relating to this niche and the people in it. Without hesitation, I immediately started studying in my room day in and day out, all things fashion, and finally felt like I needed to physically get up out of my room and experiment. This is when I rented my first studio and had my first “photoshoot” where I had friends come and I would style them and photograph them as a way to again experiment after I had done my studying.

In this article, I'm going to dive into my favorite looks that I have styled since my first experiment. 07.) Nathaniel Soliz (2023):

In this look, we have Nathaniel Soliz in a nice slim-fitted black and white look with a combination of Western and modern streetwear. Nathaniel is wearing A Bcbg turtleneck full zip-up top with checkered underwear, a nice plaid belt, slim Levi jeans, and The Last Conspiracy for the boots.

06.) Miles Jerashen (2023):

This Nigga look like a Dad lmao. Miles is wearing a full vintage look from his storage which is dope. He has a nice heavy button-up outer coat with a thick flannel underneath, paired with some baggy Carhartt double knees and some low derby boots to complete this entire look.

05.) Robin (2023):

Robin here in a full military outfit all green. Starting off with the shoes I decided to keep it simple with just some black and white Chuck Taylors. For the bottoms, I decided the most fitting for a kind of more relaxed look would be the real tree camo. For the top we have Robin wearing a vintage flannel paired with a green ma-1 military bomber jacket.

04.) Ethan Parish (2023):

At number four here we have Ethan in another military-inspired outfit this time starting with the top which is from Vetements, the bottoms are a pair of camo coveralls, and the shoes are 1017 Alyx Mono boots in all white. This outfit’s one of my favorites not only because of the camouflage but also the silhouette of the whole thing, it reminds me of an anime.

03.) Evan M. Brown (2023):

Starting the top 3 off strong with Evan here in a full workwear outfit everything but the shoes. Vintage black button up with Black t-shirt under and for the bottoms a baggy pair of Tan Carhartt pants. For the shoes, Evan is wearing a pair of Maison Margiela Deadstock Sneakers in black and red. I love this outfit so much because it shows how you can wear whatever you want and make it look however you want. Evan is also always outside so I felt like the color fading on all the items was a perfect way to show that without doing too much.

02.) Antiyes (2023):

Here we have Antiyes wearing a nice black outfit that kinda reminds me of a young fly-ass groom. On the feet, Antiyes is wearing a pair of Saint Laurent fur boots with a large pair of black cargo shorts. On the top, he’s wearing a Perry Ellis black leather jacket and Comme Des Garçons white button-up with missing collar underneath and a tie wrapped around. This outfit makes Antiyes look like a young Bruce Wayne!

01.) Hannah Croy (2023):

At number one we have the one and only beautiful Hannah Croy in an outfit that puts the others to shame. Here we have her in black Maison Margiela fur low-top sneakers paired with a nice long red skirt, a denim varsity jacket on top with a white tank top underneath. This is simply my favorite look that I’ve styled and I honestly don’t have much to say just look.

PUNKWORL BACK HERE TO CLOSE OFF THE ARTICLE.

THERE'S NO REASON ANYONE SHOULD BE LIMITING THEMSELVES WHEN IT COMES TO THEIR CHOICE OF EXPRESSION. MR. HUDSON DEMONSTRATES A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF SELF-EXPRESSION HERE, NOT ONLY THROUGH HIS CHOICE OF GARMENTS BUT THE WAY HE EXHIBITS HIS SELECTION OF CLOTHING WITH HIS IMAGES AND WORDS.

!CHRISTIAN SHOWS US HIS ART!

I sat down with Christian to discuss some art he submitted to PUNK☆WORL

Seeing as pointillism dominates your art, what inspires you to go that route? Why that over other styles?

Pointillism seems to go under the radar to a lot of people, and since I’ve wanted to be a tattoo artist, it felt like the closest I could get to it without breaking the law *chuckle*. It’s been my favorite form of art for a few years now, and the response has always been really positive. Which is amazing! Pointillism was just another avenue to venture, whether that be to just try it out or to stand out. Especially stand out. Doesn’t seem like many people do it, especially not locally, so it’s pretty cool to be able to feel like it’s “my own thing” or “my style” especially locally. There’s always been an attraction to stand out. It’s from an old Dodge ad, but I find myself hearkening back to it, which is ‘Stands out with the “in” crowd’.

How long does a piece take for you to finish?

Hard to say how long it takes! It could be from 20 minutes on a sticky note, to 36 hours! It really depends. But I suppose the average time on a standard 8.5 X 11 piece of paper would be 40 minutes to an hour. Really depends on the size of the piece!

How would you describe your art and what kind of audience do you think it attaches itself to the most?

I suppose it’s very alternative. I’m not too sure what audience it reaches or who it resonates with. I try not to be in a niche community, but I’m sure I am to a degree. I just want it to reach as many people as possible and hope it inspires others or gets people interested in some form of art. I love all kinds of art forms, and I love pop culture so much. There are tons of artists that inspire me. But I suppose alternative is the best word, I used to say “Gothic”. But I think it’s more just macabre, alternative, and a little nonconformist.

Your creativity doesn’t stop at drawing, what interests you about other mediums in art such as photography?

Really just flexing the creative muscles. I feel like if I can excel in one, I’m sure I can in the other. Of course, not instantly. It’ll take a while. But really just to try new things. Of course, some of it is for sport and competition. I’m a little bit of a snob. But I’ve always loved filmmaking. Photography, too, but for a while, it felt oversaturated locally and I just couldn’t get into it. Maybe that’s a little hipster, but it’s always been how I’ve operated. But I always gotta move on to the next new project or try new art mediums. Things don’t happen if you sleep in.

And finally, what plans do you have in store for your art and yourself?

For a while, and I still do, want to be a tattoo artist. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I am getting cold feet about it. Being an artist full-time would be a dream, but I have to be realistic. It is an uphill grind to be successful and will take a long time. And I’m tired of being broke! But I will always do art in one way or another. I’d love to sell prints of my art or even just pieces. I love sculpting so much. But in order to do all that I need to buy the materials, or through a website. The whole thing. But I’ll always have something to do. My art can be found on my Instagram @Axarice. Right now, and the last couple of years have been all about music. It’s taking over my life! I love it, I love my bandmates in Veeay, and I’m super happy with how the album is coming together. I’m super excited to start playing shows once we’re ready. My bandmates are all very passionate, are great lyricists, and great musicians. Sometimes I’ll get a huge feeling of imposter syndrome. But at the end of the day, I still write songs as often as I can and have the same goal and drive as I do with other art forms. Music is a whole other can of worms, I can go on for hours. But a lot of what I said about my personal art is applicable to how I view music. And I’m sure it’ll all change as time goes on. My art isn’t the same as it was a few years ago, or even a few months ago. Always gotta adapt to new inspirations and get out of that comfort zone. As cliche as that can sound.

CHRISTIAN'S ART GALLERY

NOW I ask questions about a playlist put together by CATAVOID for YOU.

"FROM 'SLOWDIVE' TO 'DANIEL JOHNSTON'

I think most of these songs have a very similar sound and feel, unique instrumentals, and a calming atmosphere throughout all of the tracks. This is the bulk of what I've been listening to recently. I'm a big fan of female vocalists on grunge instrumentals. Good music."

-CATAVOID

NOW ON TO THE QUESTIONS!

"Before I do this interview I gotta show you the fit"

I was heavily debating adding his outfit since most people's eyes explode after seeing something so cool. but if your eyes are still in your skull feel free to continue reading.

Who is this playlist made for?

"Chillers"

Which artist from this playlist do you recommend the most?

"Julie forsure, they're one of my favorite bands right now, they have such a full and unique sound. 'Page 4' on this playlist is crazy."

Any songs to highlight?

"I Wanna Love You is the best song on the playlist"

Do you sing in the shower?

"yea"

Finally, What gravitated you towards these songs? Why now? Why this selection?

"The melancholic nature of most of these songs and the overarching genres encapsulate my transformation over the year, and I feel like I've almost grown into this sound. I spend most of my time listening to music, whether I'm at home, sitting at my desk, or at work – wherever, really. It's one of those things that emphasizes moments or articulates things that can't be said verbally. All in all, it's just good music, but it truly is so much more than that."

Listen to the playlist here...

All I can say is that this playlist is great and I will be bumpin it 4ever. See you on the 24th of October for the next issue of PUNK☆WORL ONLINE.
